New York Road Runners Rising Program

Calvary Chapel Christian School Physical Education Department has been a member of the New York Road Runners Rising Program, where students learn physical literacy to become long-term athletes.

Elementary students are logged for laps, games, and skills in which they have completed an average of 50.40 miles in 36 sessions for the 2017-2018 school year. These students have received T-shirts for attending PE on a weekly basis. Other incentives included: medals, dog tag necklaces, water bottles, drawstring bags, and socks.

High School and Junior High students are logged for games, skills development, as well as mile time-trails. These students have completed 518.89 miles in 142 sessions for the 2017-2018 school year. These students have received T-shirts, drawstring bags, medals, and socks. Students who complete the mile at or below 10 minutes have received a free pair of New Balance shoes and Sub 10 patches to encourage them to reach this goal. A total of 32 students have received shoes this year. Only two students, Karyn Salcepuedes and Mallory Rodriguez, received Sub 8 patches. Congrats Ladies!
