Mrs. Advincula received her bachelor's of arts degree in history and her master’s degree in political science at the University of the Philippines. She is also pursuing another master’s degree in Education Administration and at the same time is working on her Single Subject credential at Hope International University. Antoinette Duran

Mrs. Duran earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Biblical Studies from Biola University and a Masters of Arts degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University.  Mrs. Duran is currently working on a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in K-12 Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Michelle Branch

Jamie Gomez

Ms. Gomez is joining our staff to take on our Yearbook, Photography and JH Art Classes.  With her Associates of Art degree and experience in Film, Cinematography, Writing and Art Production, she will bring great expertise to these areas of our school.  She has worked for CBS Studios, as well as working as a professional photographer.  We are excited to see how God will use her to minister to our students this year. jgomez@calvarydowney.org

Daniel Lopez

Daniel Lopez is an alumnus of CCCS, graduating in the class of 2006. He attended Calvary from K-12th grade. During his time at Calvary, he wrestled for the school and later volunteered as an assistant coach after high school graduation. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from California State University, Fullerton. Daniel stayed connected with Calvary through coaching and accepted a middle school teaching position in 2013. Since then, Daniel has taught history, math, and science for the middle school, as well as help the math department in both the junior high and high school. Daniel is currently teaching Pre-Algebra, Fundamentals Mathematics, and Algebra II; he is the head wrestling coach for both the high school team and junior high program. dlopez@calvarydowney.org

Andrew Hernandez

Andrew Hernandez is an alumnus of CCCS.  He holds a Music in Worship Bachelor of Science degree from Biola University, with an emphasis in Piano Performance.  At CCCS, he played in the Worship Band, the Marching/Pep Band and in the Jazz Band.  Andrew will be teaching Music classes. Andrew has been a worship leader for 8 years and has helped train young worship teams in the LA area.  He has taught private music lessons in piano, guitar, bass, drums and saxophone for over 10 years. In addition to overseeing the High school and Junior high worship teams,  he is the high school and junior high band director, and teaches the high school and junior high strings class. Dr. Kristi Young-Goodner

Dr. Young-Goodner grew up here at CCCS, attending from kindergarten through her senior year. She then went on to earn her bachelor of music in Vocal Performance and a bachelor of music in Music Education at Biola University. Dr. Young-Goodner came to our faculty as the Director of Choral Activities in the 04/05 school year, while completing her master’s in education at Biola. Dr. Young-Goodner holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. In addition, she has a California teaching credential and is a member of WASC. Dr. Young-Goodner oversees our vocal music program and is a Master Teacher for Biola University and CCCS. kyoung@calvarydowney.org

Tim Hearron

Pastor Tim has been at CCCS for 27 years. He and his wife Joyce have been at CCD church for 35 years. After teaching the Young Adults ministry and then the high school youth group, Pastor Tim came on to the school side in 1988 when the LORD began the high school at CCCS. He taught JH and HS Bible, was the Athletic Director and coached Baseball and Basketball. He has since served in Administration and various other areas within the school. He currently serves in the Athletic Office as an assistant and assists our Discipleship Training with Pastor Roger.  Pastor Tim and Joyce have three children: Lainey, Jessica and Nathan, who all attended CCCS from K through 12th grade. All three are following and serving JESUS!! Pastor Tim and Joyce are ecstatic to have a granddaughter, Eden who is almost 3 and can’t wait for her to attend CCCS!! thearron@calvarydowney.org

Susanna Jacobs

Nellie Campos

Mrs. Campos is blessed to have the opportunity to serve at CCCS.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from UC Irvine and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Los Angeles.  She has had experience in both public and Christian school settings throughout her career.  She has taught multiple subjects including Math, Science, and History.  Mrs. Campos is excited to be teaching Junior High Earth Science, Physical Science, and Academic Enrichment. ncampos@calvarydowney.org

Amy Harris

Miss Amy Harris earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Biology with a minor in Theological Studies from Biola University. She was a staff teacher’s assistant in both the Junior High and High School math and science department here at CCCS last year and taught Fundamentals of Math over the summer. She also has been a judge at the ACSI Science Fair held at Biola University for the last 3 years. Miss Harris is currently teaching Biology, Life Science, and Physical Science. Marlene Paltza

Mrs. Marlene Paltza is the piano teacher for K-12 students. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies from Calvary Chapel Bible College, and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Christian Education from Calvary Chapel University. She has had her own business teaching piano for over 25 years and has also taught Worship Keyboard at Calvary Chapel Bible College. Mrs. Paltza and her family have been attending Calvary Chapel Downey for about ten years and have traveled on missions trips with CCD to the Philippines, Spain, North and South Africa. Mr. Patrick Chadwell

Mr. Chadwell earned an associate of science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from National Education Center in Commerce, CA.  He and his family have been attending Calvary Chapel Downey for over 17 years, where he has served in various ministries.  He was a professional in the security industry for over 20 years before coming to CCCS in 2013.  He began working at CCCS as the boys physical education teacher for both jr. high and high schools, and currently teaches both World and U.S. History classes to 7th and 8th grade students.  He is also the head coach of the high school boys basketball program. pchadwell@calvarydowney.org

Miss Patty Fidanza

Miss Fidanza has been teaching drama at CCCS for seventeen years. She joined the faculty after hearing an announcement in the bulletin and being prompted by friends that this was the job for her! Miss Fidanza enjoys being with the students, working on plays and watching the shy ones blossom, while watching the drama team work together to glorify God. Ashley Laidlaw

Ashley Laidlaw earned a bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts with an emphasis in Painting and Drawing from California State University of Long Beach. She previously coordinated a city’s recreation department in which she planned family events for their Adaptive Recreation department.  For six years, she taught art courses to special needs children, as well as assisting in behavioral help.  Mrs. Laidlaw is currently teaching, AP art, art experience, painting, drawing, and sculpture. ashleylaidlaw@calvarydowney.org

Pastor Joe Mendez

Pastor Joe Mendez earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Vanguard University. He has been attending Calvary Chapel Downey for twenty-six years and has been part of the school staff for sixteen years. He has taught in junior high and high school. Mrs. Andrea Vallejos

Andrea came to CCCS in 1987 where she began her career as a half-day kindergarten teacher and coached all the girls after school sports for 5th through 8th grades.  Before coming to CCCS, Andrea earned an associate of arts degree from East Los Angeles College as well as a second associates degree from Christ For The Nations Institute.  While working full time at CCCS, Andrea earned her bachelors degree in Theology from Living Word Bible College. Andrea served in the missions field as a Missionary teacher for two years, prior to coming to CCCS.  In 1999,  Andrea was asked to join the high school staff and she stepped in to fill the need for a Spanish teacher and was asked to coach Cross Country and Track & Field as well.  Currently, Andrea teaches Physical Education for all grade levels, K-12 and remains Head Coach of the high school Cross Country and Track & Field teams , Andrea has been certified as a coach by USATF.
