CCCS offers a wide variety of activities to enrich the growth of our students. We believe that the Word of God integrated into all areas of disciplines – spiritual, academic, athletic, and social – is the Lord’s calling on our school. Biblical integration is the mainstay here at CCCS.
In this section, you will find a brief description of various ministries including chapels, as well as the clubs, activities, and organizations that your child has the opportunity to participate in.
Passing The Sword
Passing The Sword is a club where exemplary students, gifted with spiritual leadership, are nominated by their peers and administrators. These students meet weekly during lunch for Bible study and encouragement from teachers and administrators. They are blessed with a “sword” – a Bible passed down from a previous year’s club member – that has notes of encouragement written inside, and that they can add to during the year, to pass on to next year’s club.
Mission trips offer a wonderful opportunity for our students to really see the world and answer the Lord’s calling to serve. Trips range from local trips such as going to Los Angeles to care for the homeless, Peru to minister in the villages and cities, to our Senior Israel trip at the end of the school year. Visit our Missions page for more detailed description of our areas of ministry!
High School Chapels
Fun, fellowship, worship, and learning are all part of our High School Chapels. Chapels are held on Fridays from 7:55 – 8:50am in the Main Sanctuary. Parents are welcome to join us; please check in to the school office ahead of time for a visitor’s pass.
If you are unable to attend in person, you can watch the live stream on the website here. Chapels are Fridays, 7:55 – 8:50 am.
Music and the Arts
Music is a wonderful way to improve your child’s concentration, self-discipline, and small motor skills, just to name a few. In addition to the formal classroom music courses, students have the opportunity to be on the High School Worship team, which leads worship for our twice-weekly chapels, learn to play an instrument, read music, and sing.
Our robust fine art and performing art department includes a wide range of courses, from AP Studio Art, Drawing, Sculpture, Visual Design/Multimedia, Photography, Drama, Choir, Chorale, and Culinary Arts. To check out the variety of ways your student can become involved in the music, fine art and performing art departments, visit our Arts section.
High School ASB
High School is a time for our students to move more and more towards independence and self-discipline. A fun and interesting way to encourage our students’ personal growth is through our Associated Student Body (ASB). High School ASB students participate in a wide variety of activities, including the planning of school events and pep rallies, alongside the many opportunities they have to minister to the school body and community.
High School Electives
High School opens up a broad variety of electives to your CCCS student, including Wood shop, Auto Mechanics, Speech, American Sign Language I, II and III (credits as a foreign language), Spanish I, II, and III and Yearbook.
