2011/2012 High School Mission Trips
In line with our CCCS Mission Statement, we would like to make you aware of the mission trips which may be offered for the upcoming school year.
Seniors will have the exciting opportunity to go to Israel. Trip dates are June 16 through 28th, immediately following graduation. Brochures are available in the High School office if you would like more detailed information.
Each year we take several trips to the Inner City. This trip is available to our senior students who travel to Los Angeles for 3 – 4 days, no overnight stays, chaperoned by CCCS personnel. Students feed the homeless, minister to the elderly in retirement homes, and spend some time with underprivileged children in daycare centers.
This year we are also offering a trip to Joplin, Missouri. Trip dates are April 5th – 12th during Easter break. Our group will be helping those whose homes, communities, and lives were shattered by an unmerciful tornado in May of 2011. The team leaders are Gregg and Susan Zamora. In addition to these school-sponsored trips, Calvary Chapel Downey offers several short-term mission trips which run from April through October. If you’d like more information on any of them, contact Zully Ruano at 562.803.5631.
If your child is interested in going overseas, they will need a passport, download the “Passport Information” flyer for information on obtaining one. Also necessary for anywhere other than Los Angeles is a completed Missions Application and Contract. Please complete both and return them to the Calvary Chapel Downey Missions Dept. or for Israel, you may return them to Mrs. Laidlaw.
