Music education is a great benefit to your child’s development.  Scientific studies have shown positive associations between music education and increased abilities in linguistic, mathematical, and spatial reasoning in children.  Those who receive keyboard instruction, for example, demonstrate signficantly better performance on vocabulary and verbal sequencing than students who do not receive keyboard instruction.

Band teaches students to perform as a stage band ensemble with traditional wind instruments and contemporary rhythm section instruments (bass, drums, guitar).  Students play jazz, gospel and contemporary jazz-rock styles. The band performs at events throughout the year such as high school chapels and pep rallies, Open House, Jazz at the Chapel Café and the Night of the Arts. Audition for this class is required.

Worship Team gives students the opportunity to lead others in worshiping God through contemporary praise and worship music. Students meet at 6:45am during zero period and perform during high school chapels twice weekly. Prior musical experience is helpful, though not necessary.  Audition for this class is required.

All courses are taught by degreed professional teacher/musicians.
