April ESLR: This month’s ESLR is GODLY LEADERS! Godly Leaders are students who mirror Christ’s character and behavior in diverse environments and who consider the interest of others above their own. (Philippians 2:3) “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.”
CCCS Night of the Arts Performance: We cordially invite you to attend the CCCS High School Choir’s “Night of the Arts” performances on April 27 and April 28, at 7pm in the Main Sanctuary. This year’s concert will feature selections from “The Music Man” and the new Broadway musical “Hamilton”. You don’t want to miss out! Tickets are $5 and they can be purchased in the HS Office or “at the door” before the performance. Please bring unsaved family and friends because the Gospel message will be given at the end of each performance!
National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 3: The City of Downey will be hosting their annual National Day of Prayer. Event time is at 12pm at the Downey City Hall. Come join us as we pray for our school, city and country.

End of the Grading Period – 4th Quarter Progress Reports: Friday, May 12 is the end of the grading period. You can always check your student’s progress on your Parent Portal.
SAT Testing for Elementary May 15-18: SAT Tests will be administered throughout the whole day.
- Elementary is on full day schedule
- Students should eat a good breakfast
- Get a good night’s sleep
- Please make sure your child is on time for school so as not to disrupt the start of testing
Teacher Appreciation Week: Teacher Appreciation Week is May 21 – May 25. The following are some suggestions if your child would like to honor their teacher during this week:
- MONDAY: Write a note or draw a picture for your teacher
- TUESDAY: Give your teacher a flower
- WEDNESDAY: Bring a baked good or a treat for your teacher
- THURSDAY: Show your teacher your appreciation by giving them a special gift
No School or Daycare on Friday, May 25: Teacher Appreciation Day Off – Daycare is available.
Revive America (Whittier): The Lord has recently opened a door and is leading us to our next REVIVE AMERICA Outreach. We are preparing to go to Whittier, California on June 17 – June 24. Attached you will find the details to this outreach. Elementary students need parent participation to be able to join the team.
